what to expect in class

In this 2-hour crash course, you’ll learn all about how to use the pottery wheel, centering clay, pulling your walls, and creating a functional piece! All students can keep (2) of their favorite pieces they make in class, to be fired and glazed by our team, in your choice of color.

Pieces will be available for pickup about 4 weeks after class.

we love our students, and it seems they love us! no matter how limited your art or pottery background is, we promise you’ll learn something, have fun, and make a piece. check out photos of classes and reviews from our students here!

Our Studio

Our studio is located on beautiful farmland in northern Vancouver, south of Battle Ground. We’re close to the city, but far enough to feel like you’re stepping into a different world. We’re 20 minutes from PDX, 15 minutes from Ridgefield, and 20 minutes from Camas.

We have 4 brand new Shimpo VL Lite Wheels and each student will have their own wheel, tools, and water buckets for class. We have a large electric Skutt kiln where we fire all of ours and our students pieces. Our studio is heated, and we have a lovely pellet stove to stay extra warm in the PNW elements.

Read about us, and learn more about Eric, your class instructor!

See below for notes and disclaimers.

We will try to pack in as much as we can into a 2 hour session, but please do not expect perfection after one class. We want you to learn the right way to throw, so you can have the best experience.

Please allow up to 4 weeks after your class for your piece to be glazed, fired, and completed. Art takes time and patience!

Something to note: there are some occasions where pieces do not make it through the firing processes. This is ceramics, and nothing is guaranteed. We will do everything we can to ensure we’ve done our part in making your piece as successful as possible. No refunds if your piece does not make it.

Covid information- This class is indoors, and masks are optional. If you are feeling sick or have been in contact with someone with covid please do not attend. Safety is our first priority.

For a full refund, we need 3 days notice (72 hours from start of class). If there are other classes with availability, we can offer a reschedule option as well.

If you're within the 72 hour cancellation period, and are feeling ill, test positive for COVID, or have another emergency, please email us directly, and we can work something out. clay@aframepottery.com
